Destin. Home of sunny days, emerald waters, and beautiful sandy beaches. What’s not to love? But what if we could tell you about a better way to spend one of your days? What if you could have a seagull’s view of the beach, the ocean, and the shoreline? It’s time to grab your buddy and head out to the marina for a parasailing trip you’ll remember for years to come.
Who’s Driving the Boat?
You’re in safe hands with U.S. Coast Guard Certified Captains and boats, experienced and able to handle large groups. Don’t worry. They have the expertise and state-of-the-art equipment to get you up and over the water safely. A friendly staff is trained in not only parasailing but other water sports as well, making you feel comfortable and safe the entire time.
What’s the Procedure?
First of all, you need to secure a reservation for the two of you with a credit card. There’s a 2-person minimum for the ride, and depending on the conditions, the captain may allow three of you up at one time. You’ll show up at the marina and take off on the boat. Reservations can reach up to 45, so invite everyone! The staff will outfit you in a special parasailing harness, and you’ll gently take off and land on the boat, not the water, so no danger whatsoever.
What Can We Expect to See?
A panoramic view of the Gulf Coast will greet you as you rise above the water. Watch the beachcombers, swimmers, and surfers, as well as keep a keen eye out for dolphins, sea turtles, and stingrays. You’ll also get an eagle eye of the many boats and fishers enjoying the surf.
What Should I Wear? Will I Get Wet?
Truly, you can wear anything. In fact, some brides and grooms have been known to go up in their formal wear. But most people just wear shorts and tennis shoes or flip-flops. Will you get wet? That’s entirely up to you. Let the staff know ahead of time your preference and they’ll see to it that you scoop down in the water if you want. Because it could be a long boat ride (expect about an hour and a half) with numerous participants, plan on wearing plenty of sunscreen.
What’s the Weight Limit? Age Limit?
Many people put off going parasailing because they fear they’re too large. Don’t let that scare you! The combined weight limit is 450 lbs (and a minimum of 90 lbs), so if you’re plus size, team up with a youngster. Children as young as 6 can take in the view, enjoying every second of it. Assure them it’s not scary but rather a fun adventure.
What’s the Best Time of Day to Go Parasail Destin?
Let’s face it: you’re going to enjoy it any time of day, but if you can get your team up and going early, an early morning sail is the best. The waters are calmer, and the temperatures are mild. Plus, other boat traffic is at a minimum, and you’ll miss out on the afternoon showers that seem to pop up during the summer months. Make a memory this summer with your family by sailing the oceans and the skies. Reserve your trip today.
