Fortunately, there are a wealth of great areas to choose from, all at different price points, levels of convenience, and with a variety of local attractions to recommend them.
One of our favourite Bangkok areas to live in is exciting Ploenchit, an up-scale, bustling, and vibrant district full of sparkling high-rises, high end shopping malls, and a general air of luxury and sophistication about it, Ploenchit is a place that’s made for success! We recommend you check out the posh flats at Karolyn Court, one of the best apartment facilities in the city! Not only are the rooms the epitome of comfort but there are great amenities to enjoy such as a swimming pool and fitness room. The apartments are located conveniently near the Ploenchit BTS Station so getting around town is always a breeze!
Let’s now take a stroll around exciting Phloenchit and see what’s going on!
Erawan Shrine – This popular street side Hindu shrine is sure to catch your eye. It occupies a plaza just in front of the Grand Hyatt Erawan Hotel at the corner of Ploenchit and Ratchadamri Road. All through the day and night crowds gather there to pay their respects to the shining gold sculpture of Than Tao Mahaprom, the 4-faced Brahma God, by presenting gifts of flowers and lighting incense sticks. According to Hindu belief the four faces of Brahma symbolize his virtues of mercy, kindness, impartiality, and sympathy, and worshippers come to him hoping to receive blessings and good fortune.
Amarin Plaza – This lively 5-storey shopping mall on Ploenchit Road is just down the street from the iconic Erawan Shrine. The mall is directly linked to the Chidlom BTS Skytrain Station via a convenient sky bridge. The festively lit mall is home to a plethora of shops that feature charming local arts and crafts, and upmarket international brands, along with spas, fitness centres, beauty salons. One highlight you simply must visit is the Best Street Food of Bangkok food court that sprawls over 3,000 square meters, with vendors selling a dazzling variety of fantastic authentic Thai cuisine at low prices that are sure to delight the pocketbook along with the palate!
Mercury Ville Living Mall – You simply can’t miss this amazing bright-red asymmetrical building on Ploenchit Road’s famed ‘shopping mile’. This quirky mall replaced The Mercury Tower, a very forgettable old office building, with a vibrantly coloured edifice constructed using a complex pattern of red metal plates that cover every inch of its 5 stories. The eclectic mall has direct BTS access to the Chidlom BTS Skytrain Station so getting there is easy. There are a wide variety of restaurants, some serving delicious Thai cuisine while others have a cornucopia of international fare on offer, so there’s something available to meet any taste! So, if you are relocating to bustling Bangkok, make sure to check out exciting Ploenchit, there’s always something fun going on just outside your door!
